Saturday was perfect weather to be sitting in the stands. We went to Dunedin to watch the Blue Jays beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-2. Spring training began about two weeks ago and this area in Florida holds the home fields of the teams from the Grapefruit league - teams like Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Tampa, Cincinnati, Houston and others. The home field for the Blue Jays is in Dunedin, a lovely community about 25 minutes from where we are. The stadium is small, holding about 5200 people. On Saturday, there was a wonderful holiday feeling in the air. Spring training gives the coaches a chance to try out their new players, and let the new team gel. For the fans, it's a chance to see the whole roster play - even pitchers don't play more than 2 or 3 innings usually, there is lots of substitution. We saw some great plays, there was even a home run! A thoroughly enjoyable day out!

Wouldn't it be great if our Dad could have this experience - he'd love it.
